Amid the growing concerns of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Australia, we would like to remind you that our top priority is to provide everyone the best possible products and services, as well as to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees and our community.
We want to take this opportunity to let you know of the policies and procedures we are putting in place surrounding the virus:
- Monitoring the situation by following guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO)
- Limiting travel and event attendance and implementing quarantine measures for our staff
- Increasing the frequency and extent of our cleaning practices, such as additional wipe downs of all surfaces including our training centres, offices and warehouses
- Providing necessary resources to our guests and employees including hand sanitisers, extra soap and paper towels in the restrooms
We also wanted to address some questions you may have regarding PreGel products and the process of ordering them:
Q: Is there or will there be a shortage of PreGel products?
A: As of today, PreGel production managers in our Italy headquarters have confirmed that all products were being manufactured and shipped as usual. Most of PreGel Australia’s products are ordered based on a 6 to 7-month par level basis, so we have inventory for several months.
Q: Are PreGel products/packaging being affected by the virus?
A: No. Because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures.
Q: Can I get sick with COVID-19 from touching food, the food packaging, or food contact surfaces, if the coronavirus was present on it?
A: Currently, there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19. Like other viruses, it is possible that the virus that causes COVID-19 can survive on surfaces or objects. For that reason, it is critical to follow the 4 key steps of food safety—clean, separate, cook, and chill.
